Portuguese Folk Music Expert Fernando Magalhães Dies at 45

Lisbon, Portugal – Fernando Magalhães, a well known jounalist, specialized in Portuguese folk music, died on May 19. He was 45.

Fernando Magalhães was born February 5th of 1955, in Lisbon. He had a degree in Philosophy from
the University of Lisbon. He wrote about music for Blitz and Independente. He
also taught Philosophy in high school in the 80s and early 90s. He was the one
of the founders of the Público newspaper.
