Cuban Culture Week Opens in Thailand

(Prensa Latina) Bangkok, Thailand – Cuban outfit Los Heraldos Negros perform in Bangkok, as part of the Cuban Culture Week in Thailand. At least one thousand students and professors gathered in the amphitheater at the Ramkhanhaeng University in Bangkok during the opening ceremony of the event. The University President and the Humanities Dean highlighted the importance of this type of activities in which the students can learn about the cultures of other nations. This cultural event represents the first step to strengthen relations
between Cuban universities and the Ramkhanhaeng University, the officials
stated.
Cuban Ambassador to Thailand Maria Luisa Fernandez thanked the higher
education center’s contribution in the organization of the event.
The diplomat highlighted the importance of links in the cultural and
educational field between both nations and spoke about the importance of the
Cuban culture.
Cuban awarded films Lista de espera (Waiting List) by Juan Carlos Tabio and
Vampiros en la Habana (Vampires in Havana) by Juan Padrón are screened
during the cultural celebrations this week.
