New York Musicians Mourn \"Sam Taki\" of Ghana

New York City, USA – Samuel Tackie Ofori passed away over the weekend of July 31st 2004. Sam was the lead master drummer and one of the main videographers of most of the events, meetings and rallies of the African community in New York, including meetings of the National Action Network and the United African Movement. He was well known for providing a traditional, unique, rousing, and dignified
drumming welcome and procession entrance to the speakers who came from near and
far to address audiences in New York.

He also left behind an important photo and video library of African contemporary
history.
