Newfoundland Composer Otto Kelland Dies at 99

Otto Kelland, the composer of “Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary’s”, one of Newfoundland’s favorite folk songs, died July 8 in Flatrock, Newfoundland. He was 99 years and eleven months old. Kelland was a prolific author, with several books, volumes of poetry, and many
songs to his credit. He was also a builder of model ships and was considered a
noted authority on sailing ships and other seacraft.
