UNEAC Announces International Festival of Danzón in Cuba

(Prensa Latina – Cumbancha) Havana, Cuba – The Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) invites dancers, bands and researchers to participate in the First International Havana Danzón Festival to take place March 25 through 28. The festival is aimed to spread Danzón among the youth. The widely enjoyed rhythm is considered Cuba’s National Dance. A colloquium on it is scheduled to take place from March 25 to 27 at the
Riviera Hotel and a mass party at the La Tropical’s Salon Rosado, on March 26
and 27. Emblematic groups such as the

Orquesta Aragón
, Estrellas Cubanas, Siglo XX, Enrique Jorrin’s, America and
Hermanos Izquierdo’s orchestras and the Charanga All Stars will perform in two
deluxe shows March 27 and 28 at the America Theater, in the municipality of
Central Havana.
