Tel Aviv, Israel – World music label Magda has released a recording titled Oum Kolthoum – The Anniversary Tribute by Lubna Salame, soloist of the Nazareth Orchestra.
This is a special tribute album in honor of the 100th anniversary of the legendary Egyptian singer Oum Kolthoum [also known as Umm Kulthum], the Diva of Arab music.
Oum Kolthoum – The Anniversary Tribute includes innovations to her greatest songs – “Enta Omri”, “AI-Atlal”, “Ghanni Li Shwayya Shwayya” and many more.
The emotion and strength emerging through Lubna Salame’s vocal work are similar to Oum Kolthoum’s practice. In her singing, Lubna gives the familiar songs fresh and interesting new life, while keeping her own unique taste and depth.
The Nazareth Orchestra with Lubna Salame was recorded live at the “Peace Festival” in Tel Aviv, June 2003.
